Are you ready to deploy? Western Australian Team members will be best placed for this operation. However, DRA members around Australia are encouraged to apply.
Donating to this operation will support Disaster Relief Australia volunteers in real and practical ways.
Objective
A fire in the Wooroloo area north east of Perth has destroyed at least 86 dwellings, burning approximately 10500 ha of land with a fire perimeter of 136 km. DRA works in the Recovery Phase of the Emergency Management Cycle and our Relief teams are poised to deply to assist with the recovery operations.
DRA and the Minderoo Fire and Flood Resilience Fund have now also stepped up in preparation to help with recovery efforts for the Perth Hills Bushfire. Together with partners, and building on our joint experience with the Black Summer Bushfires around Australia, DRA will be managing a database of specialist volunteers who will be deployed to areas that have been identified as needing assistance.
These volunteers will include Fortescue and Western Force employees, as well as Minderoo Foundation staff who will be helping coordinate logistics and communications with affected residents.
