SERVICE PROJECT: WA LEGACY

Location: WA
Status: Completed
17 – 21 October 2021

Legacy Australia has been supporting partners and children of veterans after loss or injury since 1923. Legacy Australia does some amazing work and currently supports 43,000 people around the country.

In WA, Legacy conducts multiple camps at their Busselton location throughout the year. Our WA teams recently spent some time at the camp, performing a general working bee to revitalise the area before the summer camp sessions.

Under the guidance of MC Ben Abbott and in consultation with the caretaker Peter, the teams spent their days on a multitude of tasks including:

  • Pressure washing outdoor areas
  • Removing paint from undercover areas, Hydrochloric Acid concrete baths, priming and repainting large amounts of cement areas
  • Digging post holes and installing fencing
  • Laying paving
  • Sugar Soaping many walls
  • General cleaning and organisation of storeroom areas
  • Gardening
  • Low hanging branch removal
