Objective
Following severe weather events across the state of Victoria on the 9th – 12th June 2021, a number of areas in both Regional and Metro Vic have suffered extensive weather damage. Disaster Relief Australia (DRA)’s Melbourne DRT, is collaborating with a Veteran Centric rehabilitation charity in order to provide recovery and assistance.
The extensive storm front across Victoria contained winds up to 100km/h resulting in the The State Emergency Service (SES) receiving 6,500 calls for assistance. Rainfall up to 300 mm in 24 hours resulted in mass evacuations and deployment of state and local resources to provide recovery and assistance. Flooding and storm damage has seen 400 reports of building damage, and more than 160,000 homes and businesses without power for days.
Tasking
