DRT WA was launched in May 2021 with 53 volunteers and has grown to 330 volunteers. Since it was launched, DRT WA volunteers have completed eight service projects. These include:

  • Busselton 2021 – 2023 – This is an ongoing Service Project to support Legacy WA. Legacy Australia currently supports 43,000 people around the country. In WA, Legacy conducts multiple camps at their Busselton location throughout the year. DRA volunteers have undertaken two refurbishment Service Projects of the Busselton Camp.
  • Jarrahdale 2023 – DRA volunteers continue to provide recovery support for the Jarrahdale Veterans Transition Centre. Over three waves, our WA DRT has undertaken various maintenance and refurbishment taskings.
  • Geraldton 2021 – The Gallipoli Trench Project was significantly impacted by tropical Cyclone Seroja in 2021. Following this, DRA volunteers supported the 11th Battalion Living History Unit to rebuild the Gallipoli Trench.
  • Wooroloo 2021 – Upon completion of DRA’s national operation (Operation Woods), Operation Wooroloo commenced to support the Perth Hills community following the Wooroloo/Gidgegannup Bushfire. This service project completed additional work orders over an 8-week period.
