Nova Systems’ advanced Global Alerting Platform (GAP) provides our Field Operations teams with clear oversight and tracking, critical for safely deploying our most valuable asset – our volunteers.
DRA operations are predominantly conducted in remote locations and areas affected by some form of natural disaster. Every effort is made to ensure our people are not put into dangerous situations; however, events sometimes occur where a member becomes detached from their group, or they run into some trouble out of ear shot from others.
Nova Systems’ Global Alerting Platform (GAP) provides real-time location information and SOS emergency alerting across both cellular and satellite networks. DRA is extremely grateful for the in-kind support of use and support of the application.
Using GAP in the field
DRA operations and projects are predominantly conducted in remote locations and areas affected by some form of natural disaster. Every effort is made to ensure our people are not put into dangerous situations; however, events sometimes occur where a member becomes detached from their group, or they run into some trouble out of ear shot from others. For this reason, we require all deployed members to install and run the GAP app for the duration of their deployments in the field.
GAP is used to provide all geospatial, staff monitoring and scheduling needs for the duration of a recovery operation or project. The use of the app ensures that DRA is conducting operations in line with Workplace Health & Safety legislation applicable to remote lone workers, taking it a step further to include all members deployed in the field even if they are working in a team in case of separation from the group.
