Short Term Operation Mount Tamborine

Significant storm activity affected the Gold Coast hinterland area in December 2023 and March 2025. The community surrounding Mount Tamborine was severely impacted with many residents still recovering 12 months later.

Disaster Relief Australia deployed 3 work teams from Queensland South from 28 May – 2 June to assist community members with long term recovery work.

The operation was a community effort, with the Tamborine Mountain Lions Club providing food to the volunteers.

Tasks included:

Chainsaw and pole saw tasks
Green waste management
