Operation Locke
In late May 2025, daily rainfall exceeding 400mm was recorded across the New South Wales coast.
This heavy rainfall resulted in significant flooding, particularly in the areas surrounding Nambucca, Kempsey, Port Macquarie and Taree.
Disaster Relief Australia was requested to assist with flood recovery and collaborated closely with the NSW SES to transition from response to recovery.
Recovery work is ongoing.
