A chance to rebuild lives

Disaster Relief Australia | January 2026

Mark NABFRC

As a Corporate Volunteer I was part of the NAB Foundation Recovery Crew group who joined Disaster Relief Australia (DRA) last Friday in the clearing of potentially dangerous undergrowth near the town of Millgrove in Victoria.

It was a chance to meet others from within NAB and a cross section of DRA’s other volunteers. A highlight for me was meeting and chatting with Maureen, one of the dedicated locals who runs their community group. I would encourage all of our colleagues to dedicate at least a couple of days per year to DRA and their initiatives, without the help of volunteers, large parts of our country will be threatened by summer bushfires and those who are impacted by floods will have no way to rebuild their lives.

I will be going back to volunteer my time over the coming months.

Mark.
