Disaster Relief Australia

State Safety Coordinator and Associates

Disaster Relief Australia is now recruiting for State Safety Associates, a leadership role that actively supports our Disaster Relief Teams and the broader organisation. We are currently recruiting in the following locations:

Queensland North
New South Wales
Australian Capital Territory
Victoria
South Australia
Western Australia

NOTE: We are still actively seeking a State Safety Coordinator for South Australia.

A little about the role: State Safety Associates are part of the National safety team but work closely with State Safety Coordinators and DRT leadership in each location. You can expect to be part of the planning for DRT activities and training as well as contributing to the development of DRA’s Safety Management System.

If you want to help out your local Disaster Relief Team, are a self motivated team player and you enjoy the challenge of leadership, then this role may be for you!

Members who have a background in areas such as, but not limited to:

– Safety management
– Project management
– Training (Cert IV or higher ideal)

Applicants that are willing to allocate approx 3-5 hours of volunteer work a week towards the role, will find themselves best placed with this opportunity. We suggest that all applicants have strong skills in interpersonal communication, and have practical experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel, Word, Outlook and SharePoint. Attendance of a Core Operations course is also ideal. Other training opportunities may be available to successful candidates.

Remember that as a member of the volunteer leadership team at Disaster Relief Australia, you will be part of an amazing team that enables us to deploy our teams to help communities on their worst day.

As always, remember submission of an EOI is not a guarantee of selection, and applicants may be contacted by a DRA representative to discuss your selected role via email or mobile. If the role that you are interested in is not currently vacant, your application will stay on file for a period of 12 months and you may be contacted in the future if the role becomes available again. If you do not wish for us to keep your details on file, please let us know. If your skills are a match for another available position, we will reach out to you to discuss.
