After being established in June 2023, DRRT NSW North was officially launched at an event in September 2023 with 102 volunteers.
The Northern NSW DRRT also encompasses some members of the South QLD DRRT living just south of the Queensland border, as well as members of the previous NSW DRRT living north of Singleton.
